Behind the Name "3Suns"
While the Sun provides most of the earth's energy, the Sun's energy is available to human purposes mainly via three important channels:
1. Direct Capture of Solar Irradiance (using photovoltaic and solar thermal panels or solar furnaces)
2. Indirect Capture from Wind Caused by Solar Irradiance (using wind turbines)
3. Indirect Capture from Biomass Storing Solar Irradiance as Chemical Potential Energy (using gasifiers and combustors or chemical extraction)
3Suns focuses on technology for all three modes of capture, hence the name "3Suns."
